Community Guidelines

IndoChat is devoted to Indonesian society. As one of the largest populations in the world, we aim to be part of your day-to-day essentials. We didn't insist to-be your super-app, well if it is then it is such a pleasure. We allow the society to connect and share their journey all in one. We created these Community Guidelines to be the core of our services. Which is to make sure you have the best experience, feel safe, and welcome.

At IndoChat, we encourage everyone in society to take part in our services journey. On the other hand, we provide a safe space to express themselves by writing, communicating, and having fun together. Our goal is to connect every individual in society to grow together.

These Guidelines apply equally to everyone and the content inside. In some cases, partners who agree with additional Guidelines, including the requirement of publishing accurate content, are appropriate and fact-checked.

Being part of us is just as simple as unlocking your phone screen. Which means you agree with our Community Guidelines and Terms & Conditions. We're committed to these Guidelines, and we hope so you are. Overstepping these boundaries may result in deleted content, disabled accounts, or other restrictions.

We are well aware that we can't take control of everyone, all we can do is anticipate every situation that might come up. In addition, we would like to encourage each of you to take part in us to protect the community. With the tools we provide, the in-app report option, you can always file a report that violates our Community Guidelines.

  • Inappropriate or offensive content

We strive to build a safe community for all of us. By being mindful of the content, we prohibit content of nudity and other sexually explicit content in our community. This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks.

The intention of making someone feel bad such as bullying or harassment of any kind is not allowed. It was just not a thing though. We are only human and we're not perfect by all means.

But for a variety of reasons, there are times when people might share offensive or culturally inappropriate content. It might not be the intention or whatever you name it, but for safety reasons, we may remove the content.

  •

  • Genuine and authentic

Trust forms the foundation of our community. We appreciate each individual by being the most authentic version of themselves.Activities that involve spam, impersonation, or misleading information are not allowed.

Help us spam-free movements to prevent unwanted manipulating content, artificially collecting likes, posting repetitive comments or content, or bothering people for commercial purposes without their consent.

Pretending or posing as someone you're not --which includes your friends, celebs, brands, or anything that's not you-- was not cool tho. Although it is your dream (well maybe), just don't think of it, impersonating others and creating accounts to violate our guidelines or mislead others.

Spreading false information or misinformation that causes harm or is malicious for individuals, the community, or the larger public was not permitted. We entrust the community to be genuine and have a respectful manner of any humankind.

  •

  • Violence, harm, and criminal behavior

The act of violence, selling irregulated goods, scam, or fraud is prohibited. We believe all of us are on the same page, that the laws and regulations are meant to be followed.

IndoChat does not allow content that threatens or incites violence or promotes dangerous organizations. Illegal activities such as buying or selling firearms, drugs, any regulated goods, or offering sexual services are not allowed.

We understand that none of us can live alone. So here we are, creating a space to let everyone grow together and care for each other, and is often a place to find your inner circle or mental support. Content that has the potential of encouraging or urging people to embrace self-injury or even suicide will be banned from our platform.

  •

  • Hateful behavior

Indonesia is an ethnically diverse country, with around 1,300 distinct native ethnic groups. That's why we wish to foster a positive and diverse community. We remove content that contains hate speech or content that promotes discrimination or violence against race, ethnicity, color, age, weight, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, serious disease, disability, and immigration status.

Discriminating an individual or group is a big no-no. We encourage everyone to respect each other for the way they are. No matter the size, age, or anything, we are all born as human beings with flaws.

  •

  • Intellectual property violations

Remember that we do appreciate everyone by posting authentic content, and don't share anything that you have no right to share. Make sure that you don't violate someone else's copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

In order to make it happen, we need your help to keep the community strong. Each of us plays an important role in this community. So take your time to read the Guidelines carefully. If you come across something that you believe may violate our Guidelines, please help us by using our in-app reporting option. This may take time, but we will review to determine whether there is a violation of these Guidelines and take action as quickly as possible.

We may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines or even disable the entire accounts if needed. When your account is disabled for violating our Terms & Conditions or these Guidelines, you may not use IndoChat again. After all, these Guidelines are supposed to be taken seriously as the way they are intended.

Thank you for being a part of our community. We believe, together we can strengthen the Community foundation.
